Biography
Evergreen Brazilian legend, Pan American champion. One of the biggest medal collectioner and longest-serving Latin athletes ever.
Her journey started at the 1972 South American U20 Champs in Asuncion, where she collects three medals. Age of 18, she became vice-champion LJ in South American Champs. One year later, attended Pan American Games first time and finished fifth in the pentathlon.
She competed continuously at South American Champs to gain more experience. Selected to Moscow 1980 team to travel Russia for the Olympics. Contested in pentathlon, became 14th at the Olympics.
In 1983, she famously became victor in Pan American Games first-ever heptathlon champion (and only Brazilian winner of this specific event) with 6084 points.
One year later, she travelled to United States for her second Olympics. Could not finish heptathlon after no-mark at javelin.
Conceicao Geremias passionately love to being on track, competed until 1995, including Seoul Olympics. She took several continental medals, last one came in age of 39, nearly quarter century later the first one.
After leaving professional circuit, she moved onto veterans circuit and won 20 world titles in Masters.
