Both parents are Olympian. Tommy Asinga, 800m Surinamese record holder, contested in three Olympics. Mother, Ngozi Mwanamwambwa attended 1992 and 1996 Games for Zambia.
He held four-year doping ban on August 2023 with the effects from 18 July 2023.
