Tajinder Pal Toor retains his title in shot put with a 20.36 throw in very last attempt. Qatar's Mohamed Al-Garni earned his third Asian Games gold in 1500 metres men's final. He fiercely fought for gold with the strong Indian rivals as clocked 3:38.26 to beat them for the glory. The fresh Asian champion Ajay Kumar became second and Jinson Johnson finished third despite coming home for five seconds faster than his 2018 victory.
