♦ Ramil Guliyev retains his title 200 metres by formidable margin of 0.44 secs. He also became fourth athlete in Med Games history to have at least seven medals.

♦ Soufiyan Bouqantar finally secured a Med Games gold in a distance race after three podium finish in lower places since 2013. The Moroccan edged out of teammate Mohamed Fares in last 30 metres.

♦ Cyprus have celebrated double gold in 10 minutes - thanks to hurdler Milan Trajkovic who lowered games record to 13.34 and title defender discus thrower Apostolos Parellis.

♦ Algeria wins a closing contest at the Games in 4x400 metres, including their hurdling star Abdelmalik Lahoulou, who earned first Med Games gold as well. This one became second 4x4 gold to Algerians after 1997 - the year they broke still-standing games record.

♦ Italy and Turkiye finished neck-to-neck for silver, but Italians just edging out the rivals by 0.003 secs. Meanwhile, Turkish team briefly stood on the results sheet as silver medallist before Italians reinstated from their disqualification from rule 24.5.

♦ Bassant Hemida became one of the heroines of Oran 2022. She added her tally not only another gold in 200 metres, also renewed Egyptian and games record with stunning 22.47 secs. 

♦ Frenchwomen Aurore Fleury took the gold in 1500 metres by edging past couple of close-finishing Italians. 

♦ Montenegrin high jump star Marija Vukovic earned first ever gold medal for tiny Balkan country.
