Biography
Irish shot put champion. He was prominent figure in early 20th century in the amateur athletics scene in UK and United States. He emigrated to United States in 1900 and joined IAAC (Irish American Athletic Club) then switch to rivals, NYAC (New York Athletic Club). Competed in 1908 Olympics for Great Britain and won silver medal in shot put.
Between 1893 and 1912, he claimed 13 shot put title in AAA Champs. Hogan also won both GAA (6 times) and IAAA (11 times) shot put titles. Additionally, he secured six hammer throw medal in AAA events.
Horgan returned to Ireland and died in Crookstown, Cork County.
