Biography

Olympic champion, former world record holder in 100 metres.

Excelled in athletics during his college years at Florida A&M University. After clocked 9.2 in 100 yards which was a world record in 1963 and 20.5 in 200 metres, he selected for Tokyo Olympics. Went to Olympics as NCAA sprint champion. He easily went to the final in Tokyo and secured gold in the 100m final by clocking world record equalled 10.0 (+1.1) secs from lane one. Six days later, he also anchored US Team to 4x100 metres gold with another world record. 

He was drafted to NFL in 1964 and became a professional in American football. Became Super Bowl champion in 1971.
