Biography
African record holder, African Champion and World medallist heptathlete.
Simpson competed her first African Games in 1999 as a prominent youngster finished fourth. Her first impact was in 2002 summer as became African champion (breaking 6000-pts barrier first time) and secured Commonwealth bronze.
She remained leading heptathlete in Africa until 2011 while collecting three more African Champs & African Games titles. Also won a bronze medal in 2005 World Champs - first for Ghana - and breaks African heptathlon record in same season during Hypo Meeting in Götzis (AUT).
Took a break from athletics after London Olympics after a painful kidney infection. Then briefly returned to competition in African circuit 2017-18.
