Biography
One of the leading sprinters at early times in Greek athletics. Born in Limassol, Cyprus. Contested three Olympics, 1928, 1932 and 1936, but eliminated in the heats. Nicknamed 'winged' by Greek press.
Frangoudis had some success in Balkan Championships and Pan-Hellenic events. Made sprint-double in four occasion in Balkans. Breaks Greek records both in 100 and 200 metres. His 200 metres NR remained on the list for 25 years, not broken until 1958. Won six national championships in sprint events.

♦ Father, Menelaos, was also an athlete compete in Cyprus.
♦ First club: Olympia Limassol, then raced for Panathinaikos.
♦ Played field hockey in Panathinaikos.
♦ Founded Greek Athletes Union (EEA) in 1942.
