History

The European Team Championships (ETC) is a consequent event of European Cup (1965-2008). Starting from 2009, ETC is organised with division system with Super League, First, Second and Third League. The champions were determined by total points collected in men's and women's teams combined.

Starting from 2023, the top league renamed again as 1st League - 16 teams - have contested cooperate with the European Games. Bottom three teams have relegated to 2nd League, as its first three teams upgrated to top tier.
