World and European champion, French record holder.
Born to Guadalupe-born parents in Paris suburb Bondy, Muriel Hurtis was a member of famous sprint group in French athletics in early 2000s.
After breaking 200m national junior record, she selected Seville 1999 World Championship squad. Hurtis and companions won silver medals in 4x100 metres twice in the Worlds. In 2003 Paris, France quartet edged United States front of partisan home-crowd to steal the gold with 41.78 NR. Three members of that team, including Hurtis, secured Olympic bronze in 2004 summer.
She won three European gold in her bright career, last one came in age of 35 at 4x400 metres relay in Zurich 2014.
She has nine national titles for 200m, 200m indoor and 400 metres.

- Married with French rap singer Kamel Houairi (K-Mel) in 2008. They had a son named Leyhan. Later the couple divorced. Hurtis romantically linked with Vincent Parisi in 2016. Hurtis gave birth another boy in December 2017, Gabriel.
