High jump world record holder. World and Olympic champion.
Mahuchikh discovered at age 11 by former 400H runner and coach Tetiana Stepanova. She won every single age-group global events including Youth Olympics. Broke 2-meter barrier first time on 30th June 2019 during Diamond League meet in Palo Alto and became youngest female athlete to do so.
In Tokyo, she secured silver medal at the Olympics behind Mariya Lasitskene of Russia, then moved world number one from 2022. While Lasitskene barred from the contest due to Russian invasion in Ukraine, Mahuchikh became leading high jumper in the world.
Since 2022, she won all the available titles in global athletics and eventually takes the Olympic gold in Paris. One month before her Olympic triumph, she broke Stefka Kostadinova's 36-year-old world record with 2.10m jump in Charlety Stadium in Paris in Diamond League. Selected female World Athlete of the Year for field events 2024 season.
