Biography
Olympic and World champion. European record holder. Regarded as one of the greatest heptathletes of all-time by many. Born in tiny town in Boras region, raised in Vaxjö. In summer of 2002, she gained well-deserved fame in athletics world by series of some achievements such as World junior record (twice), World U20 title and European senior gold in heptathlon. Following year she secured World Champs gold in only age of 20 and never lost a title in her main discipline, heptathlon. In Athens, won Olympic gold by huge margin (517 points!) over second-placed Austra Skujyte. During her 13-year long career, Klüft won every possible major title in her position as a European, including junior-levels. Became third athlete to break 7000-pts barrier in heptathlon as new European record holder. Retired from the athletics in 2013.

♦ Father, Johnny Klüft was a footballer played in Östers IF. Mother, Inga-Lill Ahlm, was a national-level long jumper.
♦ Married to Patrik Kristiansson (later, Klüft), is a former World medallist pole vaulter. They married in 2007.
♦ Has three children, born in 2014, 2017 and 2019.
♦ According to many experts, her 'picturesq' frame (178m / 65 kg) was ideal to heptathlon.
♦ Agne Bergvall, her career-long coach based in Vaxjö, guided her to world-class athlete.
